Types of Dandruff
Dandruff depends upon scalp condition whether it is dry or oily. There causes and treatment are also different. Let’s know about these two in detail.
Dry Scalp Dandruff
As it’s name explain this occurs on dry scalp. There can be various causes of dry scalp. Like washing hair with sulfate shampoo, rinsing hair with warm water. Dry dandruff looks like white flakes which usually looks like snow fall while combing hair. One should avoid coloring hair who have dry scalp. People having curly hair are more prone to dry scalp. The best way to treat this is by moisturizing the scalp and by covering the hair while going outside. I have shared effective dry scalp remedies in this post.
Oily Scalp Dandruff
Those people who have straight hair have more chance of oily scalp. The various causes of oily scalp are explained here. As we know dandruff is nothing but our dead skin cells. When these dead skin cells come in contact with oil on scalp they get bunch up together to make yellowish flakes. This form is more chronic than dry one. Another research proves that this oil further attracts fungus called malassezia which in turn produce oleic acid as a byproduct that further harm skin and produce more dandruff. People who are suffered with this problem should not do oil massage as it can even worse the condition. Wash hair more often to remove extra oil from the scalp.
